A small capacity motorbike is great fun to ride
and is often a comfortable, sensible and safe way to learn,
how to ride.
Rest assured that your safety and enjoyment of learning
are foremost on our minds, as this can be the most apprehensive
time for a beginner that is why our training is individual
based. 125cc training and tests are available in automatic
as well as geared bikes.
Automatic motorbikes are becoming
more popular day by day, and offer an alternative way to
travel rather than the
more common geared bike side of motorcycling. These bikes
are
ideal for getting across town or a pleasant day out
in the country.
We have 100cc and 125cc automatic motorbikes available
at the school for you.
A learner motorcycle rider aged 17 and
under 21 has the option to take two types of practical test:
1. Sub-category A1 light motorcycle which allows you to ride
motorcycles up to 125cc (11kW / 14.6bhp), or
2. The standard category A2 which allows you to ride any motorcycle
with a power output of up to 25kW (33bhp) and a power to weight
ratio not exceeding 0.16kW / kg. You will be entitled to ride
larger powered motorcycles after 2 years as a full motorcycle
licence holder.
The outline training for both licence categories starts with
the CBT as standard.
The training day is 6 hours including breaks.
All training is conducted 1:1 or 2:1 maximum.
The following courses of training are available:
- Lessons in hourly packages over a period of time
- 1 day training over a set period of weeks
